Web RTC: Boon or Bust for Applications?

Real-time communication on the Web makes it possible for users to voice and video chat on regular web browsers, while enabling rich multimedia applications to be developed using standardized Javascript APIs and HTML5. It would seem Web RTC can foster an explosive growth of innovative and compelling VoIP services, which users can freely select and customize to their specific needs. The hope is that RTC can finally replicate the successful expansion of web applications. This talk will examine this premise, bust a few myths along the way, and propose some new ideas.
