AT&T has a long history of mangaing some of the largest databases in the world. In fact, we recently won a competition run by Winter Corporation of the largest commercial databases in the world. Managing and analyzing these data for the benefit of the company is an arduous -- and fascinating -- task. Performing statistical analysis on these databases requires modern approaches which integrate data management, storage, and analysis. Over the years we have developed strategies to analyze this data through a combination of novel statistics, streaming algorithms and clever database tools. This has allowed us to become the industry leader in fraud detection and usage management. We continue to stay on the cutting edge of data mining technology in order to stay on top of the massive amounts of data collected in communications including telephony, IP transit, and RFID data.
